Music for Attractions
I have composed music for some of the UK’s top visitor attractions, including Legoland, Chessington World of Adventures, Thorpe Park, SEALIFE Centres, Adventure Island and Alton Towers.
Adventure Island, Southend-On-Sea
Adventureville was a really fun project to work on. The creative team at Adventure Island are always fun to work with and have, once again, created a unique and zany dark ride that channels their very own off-the-wall sense of humour. A quirky composition that channels the seaside atmosphere accompanies the ride. You actually get two trips around Adventureville, the first by day and the second by night. There’s a bit of a surprise second time round… but you’ll have to ride it for that..!
Fairy Tale Brook
Fairy Tale Brook has always been one of my favourite rides at Legoland, so when the park announced they were refurbishing and improving it, I was thrilled to be given the chance to compose a new soundtrack to accompany this floating, magical ride. There are actually two tracks that play in sync – one for the outdoor ride, and another as you go through Aladdin’s enchanted tunnel.
Chessington World of Adventures
Zufari represents a huge investment by Chessington World of Adventures. All aboard your own safari jeep to see rhino, giraffe and other amazing animals. There was a lot of audio work to be done on this. As well as the 30 minute area music loop, I also scripted and composed music for on-board the truck. The truck uses GPS signals to play relevant music tracks throughout the ride, whilst the driver is also able to select extra messages to accompany whatever animals can be seen. Much work was put into ensuring the various music and audio tracks change seamlessly, whatever order they played in.
Pirate Falls: Treasure Quest
Don’t let the jaunty sea shanties in the harbour fool you, you’re in for a swashbuckling adventure as you set sail to find the hidden treasure on Pirate Falls. Five synchronised musical themes play in and around the ride, with extra musical backgrounds for the themed restaurant next door.
Starting with a fun accordion melody, things start to get spooky in Dead Man’s Cove, then the orchestrations swells as we pass through a raging sea battle and start our ascent towards the final drop.
